I just didn't feel the author had enough skill yet to carry that off."<br /><br />The drag was intentional as was plunking the reader down in the middle of Rae's crazy world. Some people have liked this and others haven't (oh boy those 1 star reviews hurt). As a reader I don't like being hand held or given loads of back story, so my own book reflects this. I think you're right that my writing skills have room for improvement, but I plan to be writing for decades yet, so there will be some progress for sure :)<br /><br />2 out of 5 stars ...
